The instrument-maker
I’m Gary Galka, an engineer and the founder and CEO of DAS Distribution Inc., the electronics manufacturing and technology development company I established in 1983. The instruments in this store, the REM-POD®, the P-SB7® and PSB7-PRO spirit boxes, the Mel-Meter line, the APF-D processor, the X1-ANC speaker, I designed and built them. They are not sourced, relabeled or drop-shipped. They are the originals the field was built on.
Invented by Gary Galka · As used on Ghost AdventuresGary Galka is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of DAS Distribution Inc., an electronics manufacturing and technology development company established in 1983. Across more than four decades he has designed and delivered advanced automation and instrumentation systems for Fortune 500 manufacturers including Johnson & Johnson, United Technologies, General Electric and Corning, with expertise spanning electronic design, embedded systems, signal processing and precision instrumentation.
In 2004, Gary and his family faced a profound tragedy with the passing of his oldest daughter, Melissa (“Mel”). In the months that followed, Gary, his wife Cindy and their two remaining daughters experienced deeply personal events they strongly believed were after-death communications from Mel: specific, intelligent and emotionally meaningful, occurring through a variety of anomalous electronic and environmental phenomena. As a lifelong engineer grounded in logic, measurement and empirical validation, Gary was compelled to understand how such communication could occur and whether it could be studied, verified and reproduced under controlled conditions.
What began as a personal search for understanding became a rigorous technical pursuit, and the foundation for Gary’s pioneering work in Instrumental Trans-Communication (ITC): a new class of purpose-built scientific instruments designed to detect, analyze and document subtle anomalies associated with these phenomena. He is the original inventor and designer of the Mel Meter, the P-SB7®, PSB7-PRO, PSB-11 and PSB-11-ANC spirit boxes, the original REM-POD®, the RT-EVP digital playback recorder, the APF-D processor, the ANC-Mini and the X1 and X1-ANC speakers, along with more than 30 additional proprietary instruments built for this field.
Gary has been married to his wife Cindy for 45 years. They have three grown daughters and two granddaughters. Away from the bench he is an avid outdoorsman: fishing, kayaking, wakeboarding, snowmobiling, landscaping and gardening.
Every device is designed as measurement gear first. Sensor ranges, sweep rates, field detection and audio behavior are engineered on the bench and verified before anything ships. It is the same discipline you’d expect from a professional test instrument, applied to paranormal research. When a number appears on this site, it comes off the device, not a marketing sheet.
01 · Origin
The instruments that defined this field were designed here. You are buying the original from the person who built it, backed by the company that stands behind it.
02 · Engineering
EMF, temperature, proximity, frequency sweep and audio: each function is a deliberate engineering choice, built to perform in the field, not on a shelf.
03 · Field-proven
The gear is carried by investigators worldwide, including on Ghost Adventures. It is made to run long nights and give you a straight readout.
